Swim Team Reminders
June 1st
Dorados Parents and Swimmers,
Just a few reminders:
- Our first home meet is on Saturday, hopefully you have already signed up, if you haven't and want to attend, please do so ASAP.
- Be sure to volunteer, we need more volunteers for home swim meets.
- Concessions will be open, so bring some money for breakfast and / or lunch
- Swim meet reminders
- Please stay for all of your swimmer's events. We've had some people leave early at our last meet and mess up some relays which is very disappointing to the remaining swimmers. If you have to leave unexpectedly (someone got sick or hurt), please ensure the coaching staff (preferably Kate) knows.
- You are welcome to put in requests for your swimmer when signing up for a meet (or info about having to leave early; i.e no late relays), but please understand that these are requests. The coaches, usually Kate, decide what events the kids will swim in. Anyone saying that their kid needs to be in a specific event should trust the judgement of our coaching staff to do what is best for each kid and the team. This includes requests to swim up younger swimmers. We do not generally swim someone up unless their are not enough kids signed up in the next age group.
- Remember to allow the coaches to coach (both at practice and at meets). That is their job. If you feel their is an issue, you can of course bring it to me. If you want to be a swim coach, let me know there are teams every year that are looking for a coach.
- Parents can't protest DQs, that is again the coaches job if they think there is a problem. If you want to understand what a violation means, please reach out. I'm happy to explain what different violations mean / look like.
- We still have several parents that need to show proof of birth date. I will try to get another email out on this soon to the specific delinquents, but if you know you haven't done it, please get the information to a board member ASAP.
Thanks, Paul
Paul Frazier
El Lago Dorados Board President
